Swedesd inbjudna till Unescosamråd om utbildning för hållbar utveckling

Unesco kallar medlemsstaterna till samråd för att diskutera nästa steg inom lärande och utbildning för hållbar utveckling. Swedesd – Internationellt center för lärande för hållbar utveckling vid Uppsala universitet – är inbjudna som expertresurs vid mötet som äger rum i Bangkok, Thailand 9-10 juli 2018.
Det femåriga handlingsprogrammet om utbildning för hållbar utveckling, UNESCO Global Action programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), avslutas 2019 och Unesco har utarbetat ett positionsdokument kring det fortsatta arbetet.
I den pågående konsultationsprocessen kring förslaget arrangeras ett tekniskt samråd dit statsrepresentanter från alla Unescos medlemsländer är inbjudna. Runt 350 delegater, främst från utbildningsdepartement, förväntas delta. Swedesd medverkar som expertresurs tillsammans med fyra andra nyckelpartners.
Medlemsstaternas synpunkter kommer integreras i förslaget som sedan ska godkännas av Unescos styrande organ under 2019. Samrådet i Bangkok är därför en viktig möjlighet för medlemsstaterna att påverka framtida inriktning för utbildning för hållbar utveckling.
Samrådet i Bangkok följer på ett tidigare möte i Costa Rica i april 2018 där över 90 organisationer medverkade.
